Guwahati: The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), led by Prem Singh Tamang, is heading for a landslide win in Sikkim, leading in 31 out of the 32 seats.

Incumbent Chief Minister Tamang aims to retain power for a second consecutive term. The halfway mark in the Sikkim Assembly is 17 seats.

Tamang has already won both the Soreng-Chakung and Rhenock seats, although the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet officially announced the results.

Meanwhile, the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) is leading in only one seat. Candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and Citizen Action Party-Sikkim (CAP-S) also contested the Sikkim elections in 2024.

Most exit polls predicted that the SKM would retain power with a substantial majority.
