Sikkim municipal polls on April 24; results on April 25: SEC
Guwahati: The State Election Commission of Sikkim has announced key dates for the upcoming municipal elections, with polling scheduled for April 24 and vote counting set for April 25.
State Election Commissioner K.C. Lepcha (Retd. IAS) released the official timeline, laying out steps leading up to the elections.
Candidates must submit their nomination papers by March 30. These submissions will be checked for accuracy and eligibility on April 1 by the election authorities.
Those wishing to withdraw their nominations can do so until April 4, giving them a brief period to reconsider after verification.
Polling will take place across all recognized municipal bodies on April 24, with officials ensuring arrangements are in place for a fair and smooth election.
Counting of ballots will start on April 25, with results expected to be declared the same day.
