Applications are invited for recruitment of various technical positions or jobs in Sikkim University.

Sikkim University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the research project titled “Mass Size distribution and chemical characteristics of ambient aerosols over Sikkim Himalayas and its impact on the Cryosphere” funded by SERB, Government of India. The appointment will be made initially for 3 months and can be extendable till the completion of the project (3 years) subjected to the satisfactory performances. The positions are purely temporary and will co-terminus with the project. Sikkim University presently located at Gangtok, the capital town of Sikkim operates from several hired buildings located along NH-10. The main administrative office of the University is located at Samdur, 6th Mile, Tadong. The permanent campus of the University is coming up at Yangang in South Sikkim. The nearest airport and railway station are Bagdogra and New Jalpaiguri respectively.

Essential qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences/ Glaciology/Geology/ Geophysics/ Climate Change Studies/ Water Resources/Atmospheric Sciences/ Remote Sensing and GIS/Geo-Informatics/Sciences/Engineering/Technology/any other relevant disciplines with NET/GATE.

Desirable qualification:

Experience in Climate Science, Pollution Studies, Glacial studies, Mathematical Modelling, Chemical analysis, Remote Sensing and also GIS software and data interpretation.

Remuneration: Rs.37,000.00 per month HRA as applicable.
