Guwahati: Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely in the next couple of days over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

A low-pressure area is expected to form in the SW Bay of Bengal in the middle of the week.

While moving Northeastward, it has the potential to develop into a depression around Friday in the Central Bay of Bengal.

The influence of the above systems will result in the following weather over the next few days:

According to reports, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next 5 days.

Meanwhile, isolated and heavy rainfall is predicted over Sikkim on May 20 and 21.

Moreover, isolated very heavy rainfall is predicted over Assam and Meghalaya.
