GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to embark on a two-day visit to Assam, commencing on Friday (March 08), during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects totalling Rs 18,000 crore.

Modi's itinerary includes arriving at Tezpur in the late afternoon on Friday (March 08), followed by a helicopter journey to Panbari in Kaziranga, where he will be hosted at the Police Guest House near the Kohora Range of Kaziranga National Park in Assam for the night.

Early Saturday (March 09) morning, the Prime Minister is scheduled to partake in a jungle safari, with arrangements made for both jeep and elephant safaris.

His jungle excursion is expected to last approximately two hours.

Following the safari, PM Modi will depart for Arunachal Pradesh to attend two scheduled events.

Upon his return to Jorhat in Assam in the afternoon, he will inaugurate the 125-foot-tall “Statue of Valour” commemorating the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan.

Subsequently, Modi will proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar, where he will ceremoniously inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various central and state projects amounting to approximately Rs 18,000 crore.

A public meeting is also scheduled to take place at the venue, during which the Prime Minister is expected to address the gathered audience.

After concluding his engagements in Assam, Prime Minister Modi will depart for West Bengal.

This visit comes on the heels of his previous trip to Assam on February 4, during which he launched infrastructure projects worth Rs 11,600 crore.
