GUWAHATI: During his anticipated two-day visit to Assam starting from March 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to experience the wilderness of Kaziranga National Park with a jungle safari.

Modi is scheduled to arrive at Kaziranga in Assam on the evening of March 8 and spend the night there.

The following morning, he will embark on a safari within the park before proceeding to Jorhat for a series of engagements.

Assam forest and environment minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary, inspected Kaziranga National Park on Tuesday (February 27), holding discussions with senior officials, including Assam chief secretary Paban Borthakur and director general of police (DGP) GP Singh, to finalize the arrangements for the prime minister's visit.

On March 09, Modi is scheduled to unveil a monumental bronze statue, standing over 125 feet tall, honouring the legendary Ahom general, Lachit Barphukan, in Jorhat.

Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College and participate in a house-warming ceremony for 5.5 lakh homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

The prime minister will conclude his visit by addressing a public gathering at Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat, Assam.
