GUWAHATI: As Assam prepares for the third phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections across four Lok Sabha seats in the state, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed confidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing a considerable portion of Muslim votes in these constituencies.

The four Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam that go to polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 07 are: Guwahati, Barpeta, Dhubri and Kokrajhar.

It may be mentioned here that these four constituencies in Assam that go to polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 07, comprises a sizeable Muslim population, thus making them a major player in the elections.

The BJP electoral efforts for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in Assam on May 07, particularly targets the Muslim electorate in these four constituencies.

Briefing the media, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma outlined the BJP’s strategy to secure a significant share of the Muslim vote bank, asserting that a substantial portion already swung in favour of the BJP in the constituencies of the state where polls were held in the first and second phases of Lok Sabha elections.

The Assam CM attributed this trend to Muslim voters recognizing the BJP’s agenda as aligned with their interests.
