Tripura: Two women held with cannabis worth Rs 3 lakh
Agartala: The Tripura Police arrested two women and seized cannabis worth Rs. 3 lakh from Damcherra in North District on Thursday.
Sources said that acting swiftly on intelligence inputs, Tripura Police apprehended two women and seized 26 kg of cannabis from their possession.
The arrested women were identified as Shalini Das (27) a resident of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and Ajmeri Begum (32) from Vaishali of Bihar.
“The seized contraband, packaged in ten packets, holds an estimated black market value of Rs. 3 lakh. Both the arrested women have been transferred to Dharmanagar Women Police Station, where they will await their court appearance. An NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case has been registered against them,” said police officials.
