Agartala: The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested two Bangladeshi women at Agartala Railway Station late Thursday night.

The arrest followed a tip-off that two individuals who had entered the state illegally were planning to leave Tripura from Agartala railway station.

Tapas Das, the Officer-in-Charge of GRP, stated, “Based on those inputs, GRP conducted a raid at the railway station and detained two persons. During interrogation, they admitted to entering Tripura illegally and intended to travel by train to Bengaluru in Karnataka in search of work.”

The detainees have been identified as Firuza Khatun (22 years) and Anamika Akhter (20 years).
