Tripura Cong MLA accuses BJP of fostering division
Agartala: Former Tripura minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Saturday accused the BJP-led Central and state governments of fostering division and creating an environment of tension since coming to power, leading to a surge in fundamentalist forces.
During a Sanhati Padyatra (solidarity march) in Agartala, Barman announced that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has planned to hold similar marches from October 31, the anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination, to November 19, her birth anniversary.
On the sidelines of the march, Barman told reporters that the main objective of the Sanhati Padyatra is to promote love, peace and harmony throughout the country.

“With the BJP assuming power at the Centre and the states, there has been a rise in forces attempting to spread hatred and disrupting social harmony,” Barman said.
“We stand by a philosophy of unity and compassion, as our leaders have consistently promoted a message of love,” he added.
Barman emphasised that the march is intended to prevent violence and counter divisive attempts hidden under cultural and political agendas.
