Tripura: Body of Bangladesh smuggler killed in BSF firing handed over to BGB

Guwahati: A day after a Bangladesh smuggler was killed in Border Security Force (BSF) firing the body of the youth, who died in Magruli village of Kailashahar in Unakoti district on Sunday, was handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday.

According to reports, an FIR was lodged by BSF at Irani police station immediately after the incident and a flag meeting between BSF and BGB took place on Monday.

Finally, the body of the deceased — Saddam Hossain — was handed over to the BGB in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kailashahar Jayanta Karmakar and others including the deceased’s father.

Here it is to be noted that Mohan Lal, a BSF constable, was also seriously injured during the attack by the smugglers during Sunday’s incident.

The injured BSF Jawan, who is presently under treatment at Unakoti district hospital, is in all likelihood will be taken to GB Pant Hospital, Agartala for better treatment on Tuesday.
