Agartala: Tripura Police have arrested three youths and seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from their possession at Irani village in Unakoti district of Tripura.

Officer in-charge of Irani Police Station Arunoday Das told reporters that the police received information regarding some individuals circulating fake currency notes in and around Irani village.

He said a team was deployed to monitor the movements of the suspects.

"Based on a tip-off, we deployed our personnel in plain clothes and intercepted an three-wheeler. We have detained three individuals and seized FICN having an face value of Rs 10,000 from their possession," he added.

The police officer said a case has been registered against the accused and they have been produced before the court.

The detained individuals have been identified as Mohid Mia, Aktar Ali and Sayan Ali.
