One Prepak cadre among 60 arrested in Manipur
Imphal: An active cadre of the proscribed underground outfit was among 60 individuals detained in connection with violations in different districts across the state during the past 24 hours.
According to the Manipur police control room report on Tuesday morning, an activist of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak — Progressive, (PREPAK-P) was arrested along with a mobile phone and indiscriminating documents.
He was arrested in a raid at a hideout located at Okram Chuthek in Imphal district on Monday evening.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Sapam Priyojit Singh (43 years).
He was involved in extortion activities from government employees.
The arrested person along with recovered items has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal proceedings, the police said.
A total of 99 checkpoints were installed and police detained 60 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.
