Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) stationed in Tripura apprehended an individual and confiscated illicit substances and clothing valued at Rs 81 lakh from two distinct locations within the state.

In a collaborative effort with the Customs Department Agartala, BSF conducted a special “Anti-smuggling Drive” on Friday, successfully seizing 220 kilograms of Ganja with an estimated value of Rs. 33 lakh from a residence situated in Jalaibari under Mohanpur Sub-division in Tripura’s West district.

Additionally, on Thursday (February 1), in an operation near the Kalachera area on NH-08 in the South District of Tripura, BSF intercepted a substantial shipment of clothing items valued at Rs. 48.25 lakh, loaded in a vehicle.

During this operation, one Indian national (the driver) was detained.

Emphasizing their dedication, the BSF stated, “BSF is fully committed to eliminating the menace of drug trafficking/narcotics smuggling in the state of Tripura, in addition to safeguarding the international border in the region.”
