Nagaland: 2 women held for duping people on pretext of giving loans
Dimapur: Two women were arrested by the Nagaland Police for defrauding people on the pretext of giving out loans after securing a security amount from them for providing the same.
Dimapur Police PRO and DCP crime in a press statement on Saturday said the duo - Sungty Tungoe alias Awala and Chipeno Murry - were summoned for enquiry and to ascertain the facts following reports on various social media platforms and local television news channels about the fraudulent case.
The statement said the two during questioning admitted that they had given out loans to several individuals in lieu of a certain security amount and had executed deed of agreement on government stamp papers in the name of four unregistered societies - Limuqho Society, Royal Society, Niquomi Society and Rural Society – which did not exist.

On further enquiry, the police ascertained that they had fraudulently executed the deed of agreement and several victims were yet to receive the loan amount after depositing the security amount.
A case has been registered in this regard and the arrested duo is currently under police custody for further investigation, it added.
The Nagaland Police appealed to the victim(s) of the scam to come forward and report at the West police station in Dimapur.
