The state government has sought cancellation of the bail granted to Raghuvanshi by the East Khasi Hills Sessions Court on April 27, 2026. The sessions court had allowed her release on bail subject to certain conditions.

In its plea before the High Court, the government has argued that the bail order requires judicial review and has requested that it be set aside. The petition contends that the circumstances of the case warrant reconsideration of the relief granted by the lower court.

With the state's arguments now on record, attention will shift to the respondent's side, which is expected to defend the sessions court's decision when the matter comes up for hearing on June 3.

The case continues to draw public interest, and the High Court's decision on the state's plea is expected to be closely watched.
