Mass social work conducted across Nagaland for Hornbill Festival

Dimapur: In view of the upcoming Hornbill Festival, mass social work activities were conducted across Nagaland on Friday following a directive from the state government.

In Dimapur, social work activities were carried out for cleanliness and improving public spaces throughout the district.

The district administration, government employees, Dimapur Municipal Council, East Dimapur Town Council, Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation, colony and ward chairmen, village council leaders, school and college students, various NGOs, and civil society organisations took part in the initiative.

Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Tinojongshi Chang acknowledged the efforts and contribution of all those involved, who despite unfavourable weather conditions, worked together to clear the streets, public areas and community spaces, demonstrating a commitment in making Dimapur cleaner.

In Chumukedima, large-scale activities were carried out with active participation of the district administration, various government departments, social organisations and the local colony people.

The activities included cleaning of National Highway 29, public areas, planting trees, and raising awareness about cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

Local volunteers, department officials and social bodies joined hands to ensure success of the initiative.

The drive, involving various departments, colonies and even school students highlights the unity and dedication of the community towards a better future.

Mass social work activities were also carried out in Medziphema, Pfutsero, Kiphire, Phek, Shamator, Niuland, Jakhama, Tizit, Chozuba, Chessore, Tening, Peren, Tuensang, Longkhim, Bhandari, Mon and Zunheboto.
