Guwahati: Security forces arrested Haobijam Dilip Singh, a senior leader of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), in Delhi during a joint operation carried out by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Manipur Police and central intelligence agencies.

Security officials said Singh had allegedly arrived in the national capital to attend a secret meeting when he was apprehended. Authorities revealed that he is wanted in more than 12 cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other criminal provisions.

Based on information obtained during interrogation, security forces later conducted a search operation in Kakching district of Manipur, leading to the recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition and other materials suspected to be linked to militant activities.

Among the items seized were weapons, ammunition, tarpaulin sheets, plastic bags, several colored backpacks and a Redmi 13C mobile phone.

Officials described the operation as a major success in the ongoing crackdown against insurgent networks operating in Manipur and nearby regions.

Investigators are now working to trace other associates and uncover possible links connected to the outlawed organisation, officials added.
