Manipur: Red Army to punish those who commit crimes against women
Imphal: The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has declared that its armed wing — the Red Army — will award befitting punishment(s) to those who commit crimes against women.
In a video message, the Red Army of the banned KCP has announced to impart befitting punishment(s) to one Nameirakpam Ranjit (29 yrs) s/o Late N Sanatomba of Thinungei Awang Leikai village in Manipur’s Bishnupur district for his allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman.
The video message informed that N Ranjit has confessed that he had committed the dastardly act where he inappropriately deflowered a 24-year-old female on the night of January 16, 2024, at around 11.30 pm at a place in Kakching district.
N Ranjit along with his family stays in a rented room in Kakching and he committed the above act with the woman who is also his neighbour.
The outfit further warns that those who commit such crimes against women will be punished.
Formed on April 13, 1980, the KCP is a rebel group in Manipur that has been involved in an armed conflict against the Indian government.
The group is named after Kangleipak, the ancient name of Manipur.
The KCP is part of the Coordination Committee (CorCom), which is a group of six rebel groups in Manipur.
