Imphal: After enforcing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024, the Churachandpur district administration under the directive of the Election Commission of India instructed the dos and don’ts for the public.

Carrying Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Liquor of any kind is strictly prohibited.

The District Administration and the Police Department have established specialized teams, including Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams, to counter illicit activities.

Yadav also said that special polling stations will be arranged for displaced voters at relief camps.

He urged all concerned to avail of the facilities by submitting their particulars in ID forms which can be obtained from the DEO office, ARO office, and concerned SDOs.

The Addl DEO also said that the District Administration has instituted/put in place Seizure of Cash Committee and Monitoring Teams at various locations and the public/citizens are requested to report any kind of violation of any kind to the Sector Officers/Special Executive Magistrates, Flying Squad Teams, and Surveillance Teams for effective control over such activities, he said.

In the meantime, Samuel Lhungdim, District Nodal Officer for the Model Code of Conduct, urged citizens to utilize the c-VIGIL app for reporting MCC violations.

The app allows users to upload pictures, videos, or audio recordings and automatically detects their location.

A dedicated media centre has been opened in Room No. GF-8, Mini Secretariat Building, Tuibong to facilitate media persons in accessing the election process and other activities of the DEO.

He further solicited the cooperation of all denizens to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Lok Sabha election in the District.
