Manipur: Abducted Naga student rescued by police in Imphal
Imphal: A team of the Manipur Police rescued a 19-year-old student who was abducted on Monday in Imphal West.
Tamreingam Shithung, a second-semester was reportedly dragged into a car by two gunmen near Mantripukhri.
According to a police report, the incident occurred around noon on January 29 near the Mother Teresa Charity Home.

Acting on inputs, police initiated a search operation and managed to locate and rescue Shithung within the same day, at around 9 pm, in the Kangchup area of Imphal West district.

The Zingsho Katamnao Long (ZKL), an apex organization for Eastern Tangkhul students, condemned the kidnapping, expressing concern that such acts could exacerbate existing tensions in the state amidst ongoing ethnic violence.
They appealed to the public to refrain from such unlawful activities.
