Imphal: The Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey graced the launching ceremony of Universal Culture organized by the Art and Culture Wing, Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF), and Brahma Kumaris held under the theme “Love, Peace and Harmony” at Banquet Hall, Raj Bhavan of Imphal on Monday.

Addressing the gatherings, Governor Uikey hailed the relentless efforts made by the Brahma Kumaris to launch Universal Culture under the theme: Love, Peace, and Harmony at this critical juncture, especially in Manipur with the sole objective of restoring peace and normalcy in the state.

She mentioned that the theme is apt for the prevailing context of the state as such an occasion will instil the message of oneness and peace amongst the people.

While lauding the activities of Brahma Kumaris through meditation programs and for being a torchbearer of peace, the Governor urged the Brahma Kumaris to reach out to the Internally Displaced Persons in relief camps and conduct meditation classes as mental peace is the need of the hour for them and it will aid in reducing mental pain and sufferings.

Manipuri famous Ras Lila, Pung Cholom, Dhol Cholom, and Khamba Thoibi Dance were performed to mark the celebration.

Prof. Dr Pandiamani, Director, Value Education Wing, RERF, BK Chandrika, Chairperson, Art and Culture Wing, Brahma Kumaris, Laimayum Surjakanta Sharma, Chairman, Film Forum, Manipur and BK Nilima, in-charge, Brahma Kumaris, Manipur also graced the occasion as President, Special Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

Notably, in the communal violence over 230 individuals lost their lives so far.
