Manipur Governor asks CS to expedite joining of 83 Asst Professors in DMU
Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey on Friday directed the Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi to expedite ways for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor of the Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, and to facilitate the joining of newly selected Assistant Professors.
According to a Raj Bhavan Communique issued here on Friday, the directive was made when the Chief Secretary called on the Governor on Friday at the Raj Bhavan.
This followed after the representatives of 83 selected Assistant Professors of Dhanamanjuri University in 21 different subjects called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and apprised her of their grievances on Thursday.
They informed the Governor that although their selection result was out in February this year, they are yet to join as no offer letter has been given to them by the University.
They requested the Governor to help them in this regard.
The Governor assured the representatives that she would ask the concerned authorities to do the needful at the earliest in the best interest of the teaching community in the state.
On the recommendation of the Selection Committee, Dhanamanjuri University, Manipur, and in pursuance to Resolution No. 2 of the 11th Syndicate meeting of Dhanamanjuri University held on 27th February 2024, the 83 candidates have been selected for appointment to the post of 83 (eighty-three) Assistant Professors of Dhanamanjuri University in 21 different subjects.
DM University was established under “The Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017 “ which came into force on April 6, 2018, through a notification in the Manipur Gazette published by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Manipur.
The University was established under the National Scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).
