Imphal: Normal life and plying of vehicles on the National Highway 102 — Imphal to Dimapur via Kohima (Nagaland) is severely affected due to a nine-hour bandh in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district predominantly inhabited by the Kuki-Zo people on Friday.

Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), a powerful Kuki-Zo outfit has called the bandh to protest the state government’s inability to locate the bodies of the two Kuki-Zo volunteers killed in the Phailengmol area of Kangpokpi district on April 13, 2024.

The total shutdown started at 9 am and ended at 6 pm.

During the bandh, all government and private institutions in the district remained closed.

The inter-state bus services passing Imphal to Senapati district via Kangpokpice came to a grinding halt during the bandh hours.
