Guwahati: The official website (https://www.cmmanipur.gov.in/) of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has been reportedly temporarily suspended for an alleged "violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC)".

Anyone trying to open the website will see a message that reads, “The website is temporarily suspended in compliance of the Model Code Of Conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024.”

The Manipur government, however, refuted the media report claiming the website's suspension for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

"The website has been temporarily suspended voluntarily by the Chief Minister’s Office to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct, and not due to any directive from the Election Commission of India for any violation," stated the Manipur government's Information and Public Relation (IPR) PRO in a statement.

Manipur's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in a tweet claimed that the report relating to the suspension of the account for violation of MCC is incorrect.
