Manipur: Cache of weapons recovered in Kangpokpi
Imphal: A cache of arms, and ammunition have been recovered from an abandoned camp when a joint team of the state and central forces launched search and area domination operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Kangpokpi district of this sensitive border state during the past 24 hours, official statement said on Saturday.
Based on specific information from their sources, the combined team of the Assam Rifles and Manipur police launched the operations at Khengjam village of Kangpokpi district predominantly inhabited by the Kuki-Zo community.
The cordon and search operations that lasted around three hours successfully recovered one 7.62mm SLR with 02 two magazines, one 12-inch SBBL Gun, 10 Live rounds of ammunition and one Baofeng Radio Set.
However, no arrest has been made in the operation.
The recovered items have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further proceedings, the reports added.
