Imphal: A 21-year-old Kuki youth who was on the missing list since May 14, 2024, was found at the Jiri River flowing through the inter-state boundary between Manipur and Assam on Friday, a report said.

Sougoulen Singson alias Bosco Singhson, 21, son of Saikholet Singson was on the missing list of the Kuki Inpi, Jiribam, and Tamenglong districts of Manipur as per social media reports with an appeal to find out his whereabouts since May 14, 2024, 8 pm.

The body of the Kuki tribal youth was found floating at a place on the Jiri River after his family members and other law enforcement agency personnel looked out for him for the past three days.

The recovery of the body of the tribal youth came at a time when there was prevailing tension between the Kukis and Meities across the state during the past year.

Officially, over 32 persons from warring communities are on the missing list of the state police department as of May 17, 2024.
