Manipur: Assam Rifles seize 15 IEDs, 42 grenades in Tengnoupal
Guwahati: The Assam Rifles has seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives, including 15 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and 42 country-made grenades, from Tengnoupal district of Manipur.
Acting on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of arms, ammunition and explosives in Tengnoupal district’s Senam village, troops of the paramilitary force launched a search operation.
After an extensive search using explosive detection equipment and dogs, the team of Assam Rifles recovered as many as 15 large IEDs, a total of 42 country-made grenades, firearms and several live rounds of ammunition.

The team also recovered hand grenades, detonators and other combat materials during the operation.
The seized items were later handed over to the Manipur Police.
The Assam Rifles has apprehended several cadres of proscribed militant outfits, including Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), People's Liberation Army of Manipur (PLA) and United National Liberation Front-Koireng (UNLF-K), from the bordering areas of Tengnoupal district over the past one month.
