This provision aims to facilitate participation from individuals aged 85 and above, persons with disabilities, suspected Covid-19 patients, and those already infected with Covid-19, who have applied for postal ballots using Form 12D.

Approximately 4,500 voters in the West Parliamentary Constituency have opted for home voting.

Each polling sector will have a dedicated sector officer overseeing the process.

A specialized team comprising a micro observer, two polling officers, a videographer, and security personnel will ensure the smooth conduct of door-to-door polling.

Litan Chandra Bhowmik, a resident of Bhattapukur in Agartala, expressed his satisfaction after casting his vote at home for the first time.

As a person with disabilities, he faced difficulties in previous elections due to long queues at polling stations.

He shared, “I am a PwD voter, and going to polling stations presents challenges for me. This is the first time I have voted at home. Last year, I struggled at polling stations with a helper due to the heavy lines.”

An official involved in the home voting process stated that they aim to complete the voting on Wednesday.

However, if necessary, they will revisit houses for home voting on April 12th.
