Four arrested in Tripura with cannabis worth Rs 4 lakh
Agartala: Four youths were apprehended by the Tripura Police in Teliamura, Khowai District, for attempting to smuggle cannabis worth Rs. 4 lakh out of the state.
Rajib Debnath, the Officer-In-Charge of Teliamura Police Station, informed reporters that the arrests were made late last night when the police intercepted an auto carrying 30 kg of cannabis towards Teliamura Railway Station.
According to Debnath, the four individuals, identified as Rahul Das, Gopesh Debnath, Raju Das, and Shantu Das, were planning to transport the contraband via the Rani Kamalavati Express.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a search and discovered the cannabis concealed in bags inside the auto.
The arrested individuals are now in custody, facing charges related to drug trafficking.
