New Delhi: The central government has decided to constitute a three-member committee to look into the demands put forth by the district councils in the Northeast.

The committee would be formed within one month.

This was informed by TIPRA party leader Pradyot Debbarma.

Debbarma along with other leaders from district councils across Northeast, met union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday (July 25) in New Delhi.

During the discussion, Amit Shah assured the delegation that a committee would be formed within a month to address and resolve the issues faced by the district councils in the Northeast.

Pradyot Debbarma said: “We met with home minister Amit Shah along with leaders from the Northeast district councils.”

“He assured us that a committee will be formed within a month to address and resolve the issues relating to all the councils,” he said.

The TIPRA leader added: “We appreciate his commitment to finding amicable solutions.”
