BSF Meghalaya arrest three Bangladeshi nationals in EKH
Guwahati: In another incident of apprehending infiltrators, the vigilant troops of the 193 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya arrested three Bangladeshi nationals near the international border in the East Khasi Hills district.
The individuals held were later identified as Mohibur Rehman (30), Kudus Miah (25) from Sunamganj district, and Mubarak Hossain (16) from Sylhet district.
The BSF Meghalaya took to X and wrote, “Alert troops of the 193 Bn #BSFMeghalaya apprehended three #Bangladeshi nationals who had entered into Indian territory in East Khasi Hills district with the intention of travelling to #Kashmir in search of jobs. Two Indian touts were also apprehended.”
According to reports, the intelligence unit of BSF stationed at the Dangar Tri Junction stopped a Maruti Alto car and, upon suspicion, detained two Indian touts along with the three Bangladeshi nationals.
During the questioning of the accused, it came to light that the Bangladeshi nationals had illegally entered Indian territories with the intention of travelling to Kashmir in search of employment.
The arrested persons are being handed over to the Dangar Police Station in East Khasi Hills for further legal procedures.
