BJP Sikkim President meets Amit Shah, seeks advice ahead of Assembly polls
Guwahati: The President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Sikkim, D.R Thapa held a meeting with the Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi office.
The meeting is seen to be strategic in terms of the upcoming Assembly elections and both of them discussed various political issues and chalked out strategies for the upcoming general elections in the state.
During the closed-door meeting, Thapa briefed the Home Minister about the present political scenario of Sikkim and also highlighted the major developments and challenges the state is facing.
Additionally, Thapa also provided insights into the BJP’s organisational readiness for the forthcoming elections, focusing primarily on the party’s commitment to serve the people of Sikkim more judiciously.
The Legislative Assembly election in Sikkim is slated to take place in April 2024 which will elect the 32 members of the state assembly.
The tenure of the present government is scheduled to end on June 2, 2024.
