Assam: Woman dies in Guwahati in hit and run case
Guwahati: During the occasion of Holi a tragic incident has been reported with an unidentified being hit and run by a vehicle in the National Highway 37.
The incident happened on Sunday night in the Lalungaon area in Guwahati when a woman was trying to cross the road and was hit by a vehicle and succumbed to her injury before she could be taken to the hospital.
The whole country is gripped in the festivities of Holi and this incident casts doubt if the driver of the vehicle was drunk at the time of the accident.
The identity of the deceased woman is yet to be identified and Garchuk police rushed to the spot immediately after they were informed about the accident.
The driver of the vehicle escaped after the accident and the police are now making efforts to find out the rogue driver and the vehicle by which the accident happened.
