Assam: Woman arrested for disrupting voting in Sonitpur

Sonitpur: In a shocking turn of events at polling booth numbers 215 and 216 at Na-Duar in Sonitpur district, a woman named Mustana Begum caused utter nuisance during the voting process.

According to reports, witnesses who were present at the location said that Begum entered the polling booth and began inciting voters to support the Congress party.

Her actions disrupted the entire polling process and the local polling authorities immediately intervened.

Responding to the situation, law enforcement officers were called in and they swiftly arrived at the scene and apprehended her.

In Assam, out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats, polling is conducted in five constituencies.

The five Lok Sabha seats in Assam that went to polls on Friday (April 19) in the first phase of the elections are Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur and Sonitpur.
