Assam: Three inmates escape from Tezpur Central Jail
Guwahati: In a shocking incident, three inmates lodged in the Tezpur Central Jail for various criminal activities were able to scale the boundary wall and escape from prison.
According to various reports the inmates were accused of involvement in several crimes including kidnapping and rape of minors.
The escaped prisoners have been identified as Indrajit Mandal hailing from West Bengal, Jeherul Islam and Thuleswar Tati from Thelamara in Sonitpur district.
The jail authorities are trying to find out the exact manner in which all three have been able to escape from the high-security jail.
As per sources, a detailed report is being prepared leading to the circumstances that all these prisoners escaped and efforts are on to trace their location so that they can be apprehended at the earliest.
