Assam: Royal Bengal Tiger spotted at Dhing, sparks panic among locals

Guwahati: A Royal Bengal Tiger has been spotted roaming in the open in Jengani village located in the Dhing subdivision of Nagaon in Assam.

According to initial reports, the tiger has possibly reached the Jengani village due to the flood water that has engulfed the entire region.

Panic gripped the residents of Jengani village as they witnessed the Royal Bengal Tiger venturing into their village and saw it roaming since Wednesday morning.

Jengani village is situated 25 km away from the district headquarters Dhing.

There are also reports that the tiger has attacked and injured a few villagers.

According to locals, the tiger must have wandered into Jengani village in the flood water caused by the incessant rains in the last three to four days.

Meanwhile, the forest officials have been intimated about this and they are trying to capture the tiger.
