Pathsala:  In a persistent effort to reclaim encroached land belonging to the revered Gopal Ata Satra in Bhawanipur, the Bajali district administration conducted another eviction drive, successfully reclaiming 33 bighas of the heritage site on Monday.

Despite previous clearance attempts by the government, a section of individuals continued to occupy the land of Satra Namghar, prompting the administration to take further action. The recent eviction drive was prompted by public complaints regarding the encroachment on the sacred land.

Led by the Executive Magistrate, Additional Commissioner of the district administration, the operation saw the deployment of police personnel to assist in clearing the land. Heavy machinery, including JCBs, was utilized to remove encroachments and restore the land to its rightful state.

This eviction drive comes as a follow-up to a similar clearance operation conducted approximately a year ago, highlighting the persistent nature of the land-grabbing issue in the region. Despite previous efforts, some individuals allegedly resumed cultivation activities on the encroached land, necessitating renewed intervention by the authorities.

The Bajali district administration's proactive stance underscores its commitment to preserving heritage sites and protecting public property from unlawful encroachments. The successful eviction drive serves as a deterrent to future attempts of land grabbing and reinforces the administration's resolve to uphold the rule of law.
