Assam: 23-year-old girl shot dead by miscreants in Diphu

Guwahati: A 23-year-old girl Sukuri Tishopi was shot dead by miscreants in Assam’s Diphu on Monday night. The incident took place in the house she was staying, where two miscreants entered by digging a hole from the backside.

According to reports, the 23-year-old girl was staying with two of her cousins and at around 12.30 am on Monday night they heard some noise coming from the backside of their house.

Both the cousins escaped unhurt in the incident.

When Sukuri went to see what was happening, she could see one of the miscreants had entered the house and another was outside the house. The one that had entered the house was holding a gun in his hand and he shot her from point-blank range.

The police were informed immediately and when they arrived Sukuri was found dead by the gunshot and the police found an empty shell from the gunshot.

According to the police, they are investigating the case and are not sure what the motive behind the incident could be.

Both the miscreants are absconding and this incident has created a lot of panic around the Karbi Anglong district.
