Arunachal: IRB officer killed after train hits his car, minor child survive
Guwahati: A man was killed and his grandchild injured after a passenger train collided with their car as it drove onto the track in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The accident took place around 4 pm in the district’s Dimow Pale village.
The 52-year-old deceased - Rigo Riba - was a sub-inspector of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB).
The accident occurred when Riba was on his way to his native village from East Siang district’s Pasighat with his minor grandchild.

Riba was posted at Pasighat and was driving with his grandchild when the Murkongselek-Tezpur special train crashed into their car at the level crossing.
The train was on its way to Dekargaon in Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district.
The impact of the collision was such that the train dragged the car for nearly one kilometre killing Riba on the spot.
The seven-year-old minor, who miraculously survived, was immediately shifted to Assam’s Dibrugarh for treatment.
