Amit Shah assures Manipur CM of restoration of early peace
Imphal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday assured that the Government of India is set to take some important decisions in the interests of the people of the strife Manipur.
The assurance was given in a closed-door meeting between the Union Minister and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the national capital on Saturday.
N Biren Singh in his X post shares, “I had the esteemed privilege of meeting with the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri @AmitShah Ji in New Delhi. Engaging in a profound exchange, we discussed matters of paramount importance concerning our state.”
The CM added, "Rest assured, the Government of India is set to take some important decisions in the interests of the people of Manipur."
Biren Singh left for Delhi on Friday afternoon after he was summoned by the central leaders via telephone on Thursday night concerning the ongoing conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The violence that entered 9 months on February 3, 2024, cost the lives of over 200 individuals.
The CM also expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for his commitment to working collaboratively for the betterment of Manipur and playing an instrumental role in bringing the way for a more peaceful and united future in the Northeast.
