Active cadres of proscribed PREPAK-Pro and MNRF arrested in Manipur
Imphal: Indian security forces and Manipur police arrested two active cadres of different underground outfits in separate operations and recovered two four-wheelers and a cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during the past 24 hours, the police reports said on Saturday.
Indian security forces, following input from its sources launched an operation launched an operation at an area of Langol in Imphal West district and arrested an active member of the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) outfit. Identified as K. Gaijailung (41) from Langol, Imphal West District, he was involved in extortion from construction companies in Noney district.
Further from his possession, one black side bag, two mobile handsets, and one four-wheeler vehicle were recovered.
In another operation, the Police arrested an active cadre of the proscribed outfit People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-PRO), identified as Huidrom Mishal Singh (24) from Imphal East District.
The arrest was made along with one 9 mm Pistol, four live rounds with a magazine, one four-wheeler vehicle, and one Mobile Phone.
The arrested cadres along with the seized items were handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal proceedings, the police added.
