19 from Assam, five from Manipur graduate from RSS training camp
GUWAHATI: As many as 19 from Assam and five from trouble-torned Northeast state of Manipur have graduated from the Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) training camp in Nagpur recently.
According to a TOI report, out of 936 volunteers who completed the RSS’ Karyakarta Vikas Varga (II) — the final stage of training within the organization — 19 were from Assam and five were from Manipur.
Among those from Assam, 17 speak Assamese, while two speak Bodo, as per classifications made by the RSS, based on language spoken by the trainees.
On the other hand, among those from Manipur, four speak Manipuri and one speak Meiteilon, TOI reported.
The list also includes five swayamsevaks from Nepal.
It may be mentioned here that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, recently, had expressed concerns over the ongoing violence in Manipur.
Bhagwat urged the BJP-led central government to focus and prioritise bringing normalcy back to Manipur, especially as the Lok Sabha electioneering is over now.
Notably, violence in Manipur that started in May last year has thus far claimed the lives of over 200 people and displaced thousands others.
Recently, fresh tensions broke out in Jiribam district of Manipur, which remained at bay from the violence during its peak period.
