Bhutan Innovation Forum underway with Royal attendance, global experts
Thimphu: The Bhutan Innovation Forum officially commenced on October 1, 2024, at Dungkar Dzong in Pangbisa, Paro, with over 1,000 participants from 60 countries.
Over 125 world-class speakers, including Nobel laureates, CEOs, and experts from various fields joined the forum.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay hailed the forum as a pivotal platform for reflecting on Bhutan's achievements and envisioning its future.

He stated that Gross National Happiness was important in balancing economic growth with social progress, cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and good governance.
The three-day forum scheduled from October 1-3 will feature over 35 sessions, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Key topics include mindfulness, art, science, technology, education, and climate change.
The Gelephu Mindfulness City project, a visionary initiative blending tradition with modernity, will be a special focus.

The Prime Minister further highlighted three groundbreaking innovations including Dungkar Dzong, the Bhutan Baccalaureate educational initiative, and Gelephu Mindfulness City.
These projects showcase Bhutan's forward-thinking spirit, blending tradition with modernity.
The forum aims to propel Bhutan towards a sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive future, providing a unique opportunity for global collaboration and idea-sharing, he said.
