Guwahati: The Central Board of Secondary Education’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 examinations is likely to face detailed examination in Parliament following concerns raised by students over its implementation.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education has scheduled a high-level meeting to assess grievances linked to the digital evaluation process, including reported technical issues, marking inconsistencies and difficulties encountered during post-result verification procedures.

In view of these concerns, the committee has called for the appearance of Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy Sanjay Kumar, along with CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh. Both officials are expected to brief members on the functioning of the OSM system and the challenges flagged by students.

The review comes amid increasing scrutiny of the digital assessment framework, with lawmakers seeking clarity on its effectiveness and reliability in handling board examination evaluations.
