Guwahati: A mob vandalized a missionary school in Mancherial district, Telangana, and assaulted staff members after the principal questioned students wearing religious attire.

The incident arose when the principal, Jaimon Joseph, noticed students in saffron clothing and inquired about it.

The students explained they were observing a religious ritual, but the situation escalated following a misleading social media post claiming the school banned Hindu attire.

Videos circulating online show a mob clad in saffron chanting religious slogans as they damage school property.

Teachers are seen pleading with the mob, while police attempt to control the situation.

The mob also targeted a statue of Mother Teresa on campus.

Despite the school's clarification, police registered a case against the principal and another staff member for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, reports stated.
