Exit polls predict decisive win for NDA in Bihar Assembly Elections
Guwahati: Four major exit polls—Matrize, People's Insight, Dainik Bhaskar, and Peoples Pulse—have collectively forecast a sweeping victory for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly elections.
The consensus across these polls also indicates a disappointing electoral debut for Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj movement.
Key Predictions
| Exit Poll | NDA Prediction (Seats) | Mahagathbandhan Prediction (Seats) |
| Matrize | 147 - 167 | 70 - 90 |
| Peoples Pulse | 133 - 159 | 75 - 101 |
| People's Insight | 133 - 148 | 87 - 102 |
| Dainik Bhaskar | N/A | 73 - 91 |
The results suggest the opposition Mahagathbandhan will struggle to approach the halfway mark of the 243-seat assembly.
In the previous elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) saw its seat tally drop significantly to 43. This decline was largely attributed to the revolt by Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
However, the political alignment has shifted this election. Paswan's party, now known as the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), is contesting as a junior partner within the NDA coalition.
The JD(U)'s main ally, the BJP, which outperformed the JD(U) in the 2020 polls, is contesting an equal number of seats as the JD(U) this time (101 seats each).
