Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a two-day visit to Bhutan, issued a stern warning on Tuesday after Delhi's Red Fort suicide car blast claimed nine lives. Addressing an event in Thimphu during the 70th birthday celebrations of Bhutan’s former King Jigme Singye Wangchuk, the Prime Minister said those behind the “horrific” attack would be brought to justice.

Modi said he had been in constant touch with investigation agencies since the incident. “The conspirators behind this will not be spared. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy,” he told the gathering, expressing solidarity with the families of the victims.

The high-intensity explosion occurred on Monday when a moving car detonated near the Red Fort, killing at least eight people on the spot and injuring several others. Security agencies immediately placed Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Mumbai on high alert, tightening surveillance around religious sites, markets, and other crowded zones.

Initial investigations suggest the attack was carried out by Mohammad Umar, reportedly linked to the Faridabad terror module. Umar had allegedly been working as a doctor at Al-Falah Medical College in Haryana.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said all angles were being probed and assured a thorough investigation into the blast.
