Guwahati: In a recent development, the Delhi High Court has denied granting any interim relief for the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

CM Kejriwal is currently under the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi Excise Policy scam.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma issued a notice on Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest, emphasizing the importance of hearing both parties before passing any orders.

The court observed that granting interim relief would essentially be akin to granting final relief, as the issues raised in Kejriwal's petition form the basis of the arguments for his immediate release.

Accordingly, the court has given the ED time until April 2 to respond to Kejriwal's interim plea and has scheduled further consideration of the matter for April 3.

Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in connection with a case filed in 2022 alleging irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy for 2021-22.
