Guwahati: Bihar Election Results 2025: The Election Commission of India began counting votes for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly Election 2025 this morning, and the first indicators have already set the political stage buzzing.

Initial figures from PValue show the BJP establishing early leads in around 20 constituencies, including significant seats such as Lakhisarai, Alinagar, Buxar, and Patna Sahib.

The RJD, however, is pushing back strongly, securing early leads in 16 seats and signaling a close contest ahead.

Since these numbers represent only the earliest rounds, the real picture will emerge later in the day when it becomes clearer whether the NDA or the Mahagathbandhan is on the path to forming the next government.

Despite exit polls giving the NDA a comfortable advantage, the Opposition alliance insists it will overturn these projections once full counting progresses.

The NDA’s coalition includes the BJP, Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), and Chirag Paswan’s LJP, while the INDIA bloc is anchored by the RJD and the Congress.

The chief ministerial stakes add another layer of intrigue. The INDIA bloc is projecting Tejashwi Yadav as its CM face, whereas the NDA has avoided naming any candidate.

Political chatter around Nitish Kumar’s future continues to intensify, as Opposition parties argue he may not return as chief minister even if the ruling alliance wins.

Adding complexity to the electoral landscape, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) is contesting independently and has drawn attention as a potential vote-splitter in several regions.

As the counting progresses, Bihar waits to see whether voters have chosen continuity or change.
